As individual citizens come under increasing government
scrutiny for supposedly “national security”
reasons, a huge and potentially disastrous
sell-off of US Port operations breezed
through the approval process without the
President even knowing what was going on.
Whether anyone likes the idea or not, the world’s major
resource users are playing a deadly game of
chess… and the real prize seems to be
focused on oil. The real crisis with Iran
is probably not about nuclear weapons… but
about controlling oil.
While large corporations are making billions of dollars
from America’s so-called War on Terror, the
men on the ground doing the real work of war
are doing that work without adequate
protection. Corporate big shots in safe
high-rise boardrooms make huge annual
incomes… while the young men doing the real
job are being wounded and dieing
unnecessarily.
Environmental problems loom around the globe.
We'll be taking a tour of industrial cleanup
sites in the former Soviet Block countries of
the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
The nations of Eastern Europe seem much more
open to new technology and environmentally
friendly cleanup procedures than many of their
counterparts in the US. The damage is
great and the task ahead is monumental... but
these emerging free market countries seem
dedicated to getting on with this important
task.
